REGISTRATION
ABOUT THE PROGRAM. The Summer Institute in Digital Literacy is the nation’s premiere professional development program in digital literacy. The program is a week-long interdisciplinary gathering that includes K-12 educators and school leaders; higher education faculty and researchers; school, public and academic librarians; media literacy educators working in non-school contexts; and creative media professionals.
Location: F2F or Online. You Choose! The 10th annual program will be held July 10 - 15, 2022 in both a fully-online format AND a face-to-face program in Chicago, IL on the downtown campus of National Louis University. Choose one:

The Online Experience: An online professional development program that includes a mix of real-time and anytime learning, with a flexible schedule for participants who experience all aspects the program from across the country and around the world. Regular Enrollment Program Fee: $500. You can also receive three transferable graduate credits from the University of Rhode Island: Total cost, $900.

The Chicago Experience: A 42-hour face-to-face gathering hosted on the campus of National Louis University in downtown Chicago. Regular Enrollment Program Fee: $900 (includes breakfast and lunch). You can also receive three transferable graduate credits from the University of Rhode Island: Total cost, $1300.
REGULAR ENROLLMENT
The program fee includes the complete program experience and permanent access to all digital materials and resources. All participants receive a certificate indicating completion of the 42-hour intensive program. Continuing education credits from the State of Illinois are also available.
GRADUATE CREDIT ENROLLMENT
To receive graduate credit, you participate in the online or Chicago program and then complete 2 additional reading and writing activities that you submit at the end of July. Your work is graded and you receive a grade and an official transcript from the University of Rhode Island. These credits can apply to your work at URI or you may transfer them to another degree program. If you take the program for graduate credit, you can also enroll in the URI Graduate Certificate in Digital Literacy. All participants receive a certificate indicating completion of the program. Continuing education credits from the State of Illinois are available.
TIER 2 LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. If you have participated in the Summer Institute in Digital Literacy in the past, come back for the Tier 2 Leadership Program! You can participate in Tier 2 in Chicago or Online for the same program fee structure as shown above.
TIER 3 LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. If you have participated in Tier 2 or completed the URI Graduate Certificate in Digital Literacy, or if you have served as a Workshop Presenter or Faculty member, join us for fellowship and networking. Program Fee: $150.
Advance YOUR LEADERSHIP
IN DIGITAL LITERACY
The Graduate Certificate in Digital Literacy is a 12-credit interdisciplinary post-graduate program that advances your leadership in digital literacy. Along with the Summer Institute Tier 1 and Tier 2 programs, these two fully-online courses enable you to complete the Graduate Certificate Program in Digital Literacy in just one year. You can also add this program to an existing graduate degree program as elective credits if you choose.
